Nu äntligen är jag tillbaka med ett nytt inlägg. Vill bara klargöra några saker innan jag dyker in i dagens Comics Of Future Past. För att jag ska kunna ge er lite mer och framför allt intressantare grejer att läsa ska jag banta bort sånt som jag tycker är onödigt och/eller tråkigt att skriva. Därför kommer jag pausa The Weekly Bugle ett tag och i det här inlägget kommenterar jag bara sånt som jag kan ha en genuin åsikt om. Ni kan nog hålla med om att det har känts lite krystat emellanåt. Jag kanske återvänder till The Weekly Bugle i någon form, men nu ska jag skriva lite annat för er som förhoppningsvis både är roligare för mig att skriva och er att läsa. Men nu blir det Comics Of Future Past!

 

Här presenteras och bedöms varje månad alla nyheter som kommit i de amerikanska förlagens solicitations, som gäller det som kommer ut från förlagen om tre månader. Alla #1 från DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Vertigo Comics, Dark Horse Comics och Image Comics kommer gås igenom, medan #1 från övriga förlag kommer uppvisas om jag ser något jag fastnar för. Varje nummer kommer bedömas efter en femgradig skala, som lyder som följer:

Kommentar: Jag får erkänna att jag har dålig koll på Aquaman överlag och Mera i synnerhet, men det här verkar vara en intressant ny version på hennes origin. De verkar gjort om en del (av vad jag lite snabbt kunnat läsa mig till). Det ser dock spännande ut och kan de för mig okända skaparna få ihop trådarna kan det bli bra. Minus däremot för omslaget och specifikt typsnittet för texten som ger mig känslan av ”young adult”-böcker, vilket jag inte vet om det passar ihop med innehållet.

Kommentar: Zdarsky gillar jag sen hans tecknande på Image Comics Sex Criminals. Vet däremot inte lika väl hur han fungerar som författare och dessutom på en titel som traditionellt sett inte är så jokey. Humorn har jag annars sett som hans stora stryka. Checchetto är en pålitlig illustratör så trots allt får jag säga mig försiktigt optimistisk till denna nystart. Denna stora frågan är dock: Vad ska serien handla om när Soules sista arc på förra volymen hette ”The Death Of Daredevil”?

Kommentar: Jag är ett stort fan av J.M. DeMatteis egna verk och framför allt de som är målade (till exempel Moonshadow med Jon J. Muth och Blood: A Tale med Kent Williams). Gillar särskilt den filosofiska och existentiella approach han ofta har. Här är det däremot inte målat och Howell har inte en stil som tilltalar mig särskilt mycket, men hon kan ju fortfarande gör intressanta saker med mediet som jag inte vet om så hoppas på det. Här har vi helt klart ett koncept jag tror DeMatteis kan göra mycket med och att det ges ut på Karen Bergers etikett hos Dark Horse bådar gott också.

Kommentar: Ett problem är att det långt in i handlingen i och med att det är en spinoff som dessutom är på ”season 2” så det är definitivt inte ett förstanummer i ordets sanna bemärkelse. Sen känner jag dessutom att hur mycket kan det mjölkas ur det här upplägget. Att dessutom andra än Millar och Romita Jr. har börjat ta över titlarna som mynnat ur Kick-Ass känns bara på något sätt konstigt.

Kommentar: Detta ska väl ses som ett stort projekt, men jag är extremt ointresserad av Millar. Jag vet egentligen inte varför för jag har inte direkt läst något av honom. Har bara fått för mig att han har ett omoget författarskap utan djup. Det lilla jag har läst av Bianchi så tyckte jag hans sidor kändes ganska stela (detta var i Astonishing X-Men med Warren Ellis). Sen låter inte handlingen särskilt rolig heller. Sen kan jag ju klaga på själva Millarworld-konceptet med att allt görs för att direkt översättas till film och TV, som att inte seriemediet duger. Serier är inte storyboards för någon jävla film Millar!

Kommentar: Detta är right up my alley! Tragisk och världsförgörande kärlek kan berätta så mycket och förmedla mycket känslor på samma gång så här finns definitivt förhoppningar. Hester vet jag inte hur han är som författare, men jag vet att han är en säker berättare efter hans bildarbete på Warren Ellis Shipswreck, även den från Aftershock. Ryan Kelly har jag gillat på flera håll och är väldigt stabil. Bådar gott!
